  • Responsibilities

    Reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the overall repair and maintenance program including scheduling, planning and assigning work to others under his direction. The person must have a solid understanding of mechanical, plumbing and as well as carpentry, electrical systems and other crafts while ensuring quality of work produced and compliance with all safety and governmental regulations. Details as follow:-

     

    • Upkeep of all maintenance and repair of systems, equipment and plants under the responsibility of the Operations Department.
    • General administrative functions of the mechanical section.
    • Formulate work plan for effective and cost-effective repair and maintenance work.
    • Update and maintain technical manuals for all systems, equipment and plants.
    • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are done within the stipulated schedule period and records are maintained.
    • Monitor systems, equipment and plants’ operational performance and implementation of possible preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
    • Ensure all systems, equipment and plants are scheduled for calibration/re-certification and have updated records of calibration/certification (if applicable).
    • Promote correct usage of systems, equipment and plants in accordance to company policy, manufacturers’ recommended practices, local and international laws and regulations.
    • Enforcement of proper conduct and discipline.
    • Liaison with external suppliers on the provision of essential spare parts before submission to Operations Manager and Procurement for approval.
    • Must be able to operate all the machines so as to fully understand the functionality for improvement and good performance.
    • Shift and ‘on-call' work may be required, particularly where manufacturing equipment is in continual 24- hour operation.
    • Other duties as and when assigned

     

    Requirements

    • Min Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent
    • At least 3 to 4 years’ relevant working experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems within marine / offshore / manufacturing industry;
    • Preferably 1 to 2 years’ experience in supervisory capacity
    • Physically fit to lift heavy stuffs / carry spare parts
    • Meticulous and independent individual, with sense of initiative and able to work under minimal supervision.
    • High proficiency in planning maintenance, tracking and professional reporting.
    • Working knowledge of machines and equipment.
    • Resourceful, independent and pro-active; ability to work in fast-paced environment
    • Strong with standard/units of measurements calculations
    • Familiar with MS Office
